The Hughson Education Foundation (HEF) is now accepting applications from all HUSD teachers and instructional staff for "Teacher Innovation Grants" of up to $500 each. The purpose of these grants is to support initiatives that creatively supplement the curriculum, positively impacting students in our district. HEF anticipates awarding five or more grants during this application cycle.
Funds can be used for a wide variety of purposes, including (but not limited to) new hardware and software, invited speakers, and classroom supplies. Joint applications from multiple staff members are welcome; the funding limit for joint applications will be the combined maximum for each applicant (e.g. a two-applicant initiative has a maximum of $1000).
Grants can be used to fund initiatives that begin anytime after April 15th, 2017. However, we expect to award grants again in early 2018, so initiatives that begin impacting students during 2017 will be given priority. Successful applicants will be required to submit a short report on the use of the funds, and do a short presentation at an HEF board meeting in early 2018.
Applications can be submitted here, and only require short responses to several questions. For full consideration, applications must be submitted by Friday, March 31st.
